Katie-Denton
The

Host

Born in Baltimore and raised in Virginia Beach, founder Katie Denton has always loved living life on the water. She grew up in the close-knit Patterson family, with parents who fostered a strong sense of family through travel and time spent together. Whether they were boating or biking, catching fireflies in the backyard or swimming in the ocean, the Patterson family lived large.

Her love of travel has persevered, and as the mother of three small children, she has an even stronger understanding of the importance of family. Katie also knows the significance of creating a timeless home. It’s a skill she learned from her beloved grandmother—the ultimate hostess—who imparted her granddaughter with a love of fine linens, fresh scents and classic taste.

This timeless hospitality can be seen in each Bees Nees home—in the lovely unexpected details, in the unpretentious stylishness, in the feeling that you are always welcome home.

The Bees Nees Treehouse is an absolute dream and hands down my most favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed at (and I've stayed at a bunch!). If you're looking for a getaway in the Kitty Hawk area with kayaks, bikes, a short walk to the beach, lots of trees, and stunning decor, look no further! You can truly tell how much thought and care Katie and the Bees Nees team put into making this home a true oasis for guests and my only wish is that we could've stayed longer. Thank you for making our weekend so incredibly special, Katie! I know we will be back!

The Beesnees Tree House was absolutely spectacular! Katie was an amazing hostess. She makes sure guest have the best of everything they would need for a great beach vacation. The house is fabulous, beautifully decorated, so clean, and has lots of space including a screened in and open deck . It's in a beautiful wooded neighborhood close to the sound where we went kayaking and watched the sunsets. It's a quick walk to the beach or you can drive and park in the permit only parking lot (Katie provides the pass). We had a blast riding the beach cruisers in to town for a coffee, food, and shopping. We will absolutely we visiting again and again.

This was the most beautiful Airbnb I've ever been to - so stylish and inviting. I had a relaxing girls birthday getaway here and honestly the home somehow was even more amazing than the pictures. Through the trees you can spot the water - the kitchen was immaculate and had everything you could need. The beds were incredibly comfortable - it's obvious Katie has thought of everything down to white noise machines in the bedrooms for the light sleepers of the group. I had an amazing time kayaking on the Sound across the street and biking to the beach just 3 minutes away (or a 10-15 min walk) Thank you again! I will definitely be back!
